Lecture Series

Join Union Avenue Opera and Jeffrey Heyl, DMA for the return of our Friday Night lecture series. Dr. Heyl will discuss the opera’s historical importance, guide you through the (sometimes convoluted) plot line, and offer a sneak peak of the music to come.

Dr. Heyl holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music, the Hartt School of Music and the University of Iowa. Presently, he teaches at Lindenwood University, Millikin University, and the Community Music School. He also is Director of Music and Worship at Green Trails United Methodist Church. Dr. Heyl has sung extensively and has appeared in opera, oratorio, recital, and music theatre, including Carmina BuranaEin Deutches Requiem, and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and Mass in C.

Lectures are FREE and open to the public.
