Start your opera weekend with our popular Know Before You Go lecture series with Dr. Jeffrey Heyl. these engaging talks explore each opera’s historical context, break down the plot, and offer a preview of the music you’ll experience during the performance.
Opening weekend, Fiddler on the Roof director Kasey Cox leads the discussion at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 3 and 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 5, offering a behind-the-scenes look at her vision for the production.
For second weekend, we welcome guest lecturer Mary Heyl at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 10. A graduate of Millikin University and a Chicago-based actor, Mary currently serves as a teaching artist with St. Louis Shakespeare and will appear in Come From Away at Marriott Theatre this fall.
