Visiting the Opera
Leave your tux and tiara at home and join us at our intimate and inviting home inside the Union Avenue Christian Church. Their gorgeous, newly renovated sanctuary becomes our theatre complete with individual padded seats, sunken orchestra pit, and incredible acoustics. Experience opera within arms reach and meet the artists after every performance. While our operas are performed in original language, our large projected English translations will keep you in the action. You can learn more at our free opening night opera lectures in the chapel. (Non-ticket buyers welcome)
This season provides a wonderful opportunity for opera first-timers, especially children, with the comedic Pirates of Penzance and Daughter of the Regiment, and you won’t want to miss the glorious music of Tchaikovsky’s Pikovaya Dama performed in Russian.
PARKING
There is free, well-lit secure parking in the Union Avenue Christian Church lot and adjacent Metropolitan Psychiatric Hospital lot, accessible off Enright St to the east of the building.
