Spotlight Operator and Run Crew- Fiddler on the Roof

Union Avenue Opera is seeking a spotlight operator and run crew for the 2026 Festival Season production of Fiddler on the Roof.

LOCATION: St. Louis, MO
JOB TYPE: Contract.
FEE: $250 stipend

Rehearsal Dates: June 27 3PM – 10PM; June 28 6PM – 11PM (dry tech)
Dress Rehearsals: June 29, 30, July 1 6PM- 11PM
Performance Dates: July 3, 5m, 10, 11 – all performances at 8:00PM, Sunday matinee at 3:00PM. Call times TBA.
All dates considered mandatory.

SPOTLIGHT OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
(include but are not limited to)
Reports to Lighting Designer

  • Become thoroughly familiar with the opera and familiarize yourself with equipment.
  • Perform a lighting check before each performance, one hour before house opens and fixing any problems encountered, with the help of the Technical Director.
  • Report any accidents or injuries to the Stage Manager immediately.
  • Following instructions from the Stage Manager to execute lighting cues during tech rehearsals and performances.
  • Power up and down equipment after techs and performances as directed by the TD/SM.
  • Attend all tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals, performances, and strike at assigned call times.
  • Assisting the ME with pre-season and postseason equipment set-up and returning all equipment back to storage and/or returning rental equipment.
  • Assist with strike under the direction of the TD/SM.

RUN CREW RESPONSIBILITIES:
(include but are not limited to)
Reports to Assistant Stage Manager

  • Assist the Stage Manager in every way in support of the opera production.
  • Remains on-site at the end of rehearsals and performances until dismissed by the Stage Manager
  • Report any accidents or injuries to the Stage Manager immediately.
  • Participate in strike immediately following the final performance. Duties will be assigned on site by the production manager, stage manager, and technical director.

Housing is not available for these positions.
