Did you know volunteers enjoy the opera at Union Avenue for FREE? Ushers are invited to stay for the duration of the performance and are welcome to attend the final dress rehearsal if they choose. With over 240 volunteer opportunities to be filled this summer we are always looking to add new volunteers.
Ushers assist patrons in finding their seats, distributing programs, and help direct patrons through the facility on performance nights. With volunteer training every night prior to the house opening, you can sign up to be a volunteer at any time during the season.

Union Avenue Opera offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. While our biggest need is staffing special events and ushers/ticket takers during performances, there are several ongoing needs as well in our administrative office including office operations, ticket sales, writing/proofing, development, and special event coordination. Volunteers with daytime availability and computer skills are particularly in demand. If you’ve got the time, then we’ve got a job for you. Every volunteer at Union Avenue Opera is vital to the health and strength of the Opera.
